Grimes County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Todd Greene and Sheriff Don Sowell accept a check for $5,000 from Grimes County Crime Stoppers president Bob Goldstein to assist with funding of software from [Cell]Hawk Analytics. The software plots the location of a cellphone and once the data is obtained from the cellphone subscriber, it allows law enforcement the ability to place the suspect in the vicinity of the crime and/or suspect in the vicinity of the victim, depending on the crime. Previously, it took weeks or months to obtain the data from cellphone providers.
